I&#8217;m half-introvert, so this will be a bit of a stretch for me. But it&#8217;ll also be <em>awesome<\/em>! I hope to meet like a million fantastic people&mdash;no problem, right?&mdash;and get a good start on my Emerging Leaders project (Librarians Build Communities). <\/p>\n<p>Btw: I made <a href=\"http:\/\/maps.google.com\/maps\/ms?msid=207217608126220242473.0004b6d625c5cf32f920e&#038;msa=0&#038;ll=32.776071,-96.823132&#038;spn=0.009778,0.019784\">a map<\/a>. And I am delighted to report that my iPhone can read it! (When did that happen?)<\/p>\n<p>Wednesday:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>6-9pm: Finish packing<\/li>\n<li>Later: Board red-eye<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Thursday:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Arrive in Dallas in the afternoon<\/li>\n<li>Try to check in early to Sheraton for a nap<\/li>\n<li>Maybe show up at registration? (No, looks like that doesn&#8217;t open until Friday.)<\/li>\n<li>7pm: Teleconference with Alaska Library Association<\/li>\n<li>8:30pm: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/events\/343940528958765\/\">EL &#038; Friends Meetup<\/a> at Iron Cactus<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Friday:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>8am-5pm: Emerging Leaders Workshop<\/li>\n<li>6-7pm: Reception with ELs at Omni Dallas Hotel<\/li>\n<li>8pm: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/events\/296734323705354\/\">Emerging Leaders Meetup &#038; Social<\/a> at City Tavern<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Saturday:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>8:30-9:30am: ALA Master Series: A Library occupies Occupy Wall Street<\/li>\n<li>10:30am-12pm: NMRT Executive Board Meeting<\/li>\n<li>12:30-1pm: ALA Masters Series: Dallas Public Library on Re-imagining the Public Library in a Post-Recession Economy<\/li>\n<li>1:30-3:30pm: NMRT Membership, Networking &#038; Committee Interest Meeting; if I&#8217;m not needed there, I&#8217;ll head over to RUSA MARS Hot Topics Discussion Forum&#8211;that&#8217;s been great in the past!<\/li>\n<li>4-5:30pm: Progressive Librarians Guild Meeting (unless I&#8217;m getting tired by then)<\/li>\n<li>5:30-7:30pm: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/events\/283629631678403\/\">NMRT Social<\/a> at City Tavern<\/li>\n<li>7:30-10pm: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/events\/188808927870633\/\">5th Annual Newbie and Veteran Tweetup<\/a> at the Anvil Pub<\/li>\n<li>Thereafter: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/events\/315294991825219\/\">ALA MW &#8217;12 After Hours Social<\/a> at LaGrange<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Sunday:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>(8am is going to be much too early, but&#8230;) SummonCamp<\/li>\n<li>10-11am: John Green &#8211; yeah, I&#8217;ll have to leave SummonCamp early, but I really like Vlogbrothers!<\/li>\n<li>11am-noon: Maybe pop into NMRT\/LLAMA New Leaders Discussion Group!<\/li>\n<li>Lunch<\/li>\n<li>1-3pm: The Midwinter Conversation: Transforming Librarianship<\/li>\n<li>Exhibits<\/li>\n<li>6:30pm: STS Dinner at City Tavern<\/li>\n<li>Thereafter: Elsevier Dessert Reception at Eddie Deen&#8217;s Ranch<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Monday:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>8-10am: LITA Town Meeting (if I can drag myself out of bed in time)<\/li>\n<li>10am: Meeting about LibraryCamp<\/li>\n<li>11:30am-1pm: Springer Innovations for Academic Libraries Lunch and Learn Session (Hyatt)<\/li>\n<li>2-3pm: Exhibits closing with Lisa Loeb<\/li>\n<li>3:30-5pm: <a href=\"http:\/\/alamw12.scheduler.ala.org\/node\/1428\">Library Camp<\/a> &#8211; which I&#8217;m helping out with! <strong>Please come<\/strong>, if you&#8217;re still in town!<\/li>\n<li>Maybe find a steak house for dinner.
